Bosque Cares About ABQ—Here’s How You Can Join Us!

At Bosque Heating, Cooling and Plumbing, contributing to our community is a big part of our heart and our focus. If that means donating our skills and time to those in need, or partnering with other ways of giving back to the community, we are on board. In the words of our CEO Carlos Griego,

“Our number one intent is to make a difference in the community and inspire people to give back to the communitty.”

Our Inspiration

One place where you can see more of Carlos’s heart and passion is through his connection with KNKT—a Christian radio station here in Albuquerque. Carlos has been listening to KNKT since he was young and gets daily encouragement from the sermons shared. Even when he was working Sundays when he was younger and couldn’t make it to church, he’d listen to KNKT in his work truck and get his spiritual cup filled.

Now, Carlos has had the opportunity to inspire folks through this same radio station, both by supporting financially, and getting to be on the air with one of the pastors he grew up listening to—Jim Williams. He hopes to be able to encourage listeners, just as he has been encouraged by the teaching he’s heard on-air over the years.

If you want to listen to some of the segments Carlos and Bosque partner, Jorge Rojas have had the opportunity to be on, here are a few links below:

Taking Care of the Widow, the Orphan, and the Alien

Because of Carlos’ faith and the importance his faith places on taking care of the disadvantaged, Carlos can’t help but bring those values into the workplace at Bosque. And so, we help wherever and whenever we can.

One place we partner with is the Department of Senior Affairs. We love when we have the opportunity to donate our time and our skills to helping seniors with their HVAC needs. If you’re looking for a way to give back in our Albuquerque community, we recommend giving Senior Affairs a call and asking how you can help! It’s a great branch of our city government.

Another place we are honored to be able to serve is the Women’s Housing Coalition. This organization helps women in need find self-sufficiency, including affordable housing. When we can offer our HVAC services there, it’s always a privilege to help out there as well. This is another organization we highly recommend if you’re looking for a place to give back financially. They also have a thrift store, so if you have item donations that’s a great way to support these women in need as well.

And, one last organization we want to mention is Feed NM Kids. Unfortunately, New Mexico is the leading state in the nation when it comes to food scarcity for children. That’s why we support this non-profit and encourage you to as well. Feed NM Kids drops food packages at schools so kids have non-perishable foods they can eat over the weekend. You can drop off non-perishable foods in the bins in the south and east foyers of Calvary Albuquerque for distribution in Albuquerque public schools. Teachers, counselors, and other staff distribute snack packs to students they’ve identified have food scarcity at home.

A Bigger Picture for Albuquerque

What Bosque hopes to do through giving back, aside from impacting individual lives, is creating a business culture in Albuquerque and throughout the state that encourages businesses to prioritize the community. Carlos explained,

“We just want to change the way that we do business in New Mexico… If you do business in New Mexico, you better be giving back to the community because that’s how business here is. And we just may change [how businesses operate]. Maybe it’s a little change, but that’s the legacy.”

So, make sure you stay tuned to our Instagram at @bosque_services or on Facebook to join us in upcoming opportunities to give back. And if you know of a local non-profit in New Mexico that would be a good fit for our passions, please let us know in the comments.
