The age of the piping in your home and the material of the piping are the biggest indicators of when they need to be replaced. Galvanized steel pipes can last anywhere from 20-50 years, brass pipes last 40-70+ years, copper pipes last 50+ years, cast iron pipes can last anywhere from 75-100 years, and plastic pipes last indefinitely. Is Repiping Super Expensive or Necessary
Repiping is generally an expensive job, which is why most plumbers in Albuquerque only recommend doing it if it’s entirely necessary.
