Give Back in ABQ This Holiday Season

At Bosque Heating, Cooling & Plumbing, community involvement is one of our most important values. Many of our Albuquerque HVAC technicians and staff are ABQ born and raised, and we care deeply about our community. As often as we can, we partner with other community organizations to help those in need. This holiday season, we wanted to share with our Bosque community some of our favorite ways you can give back this holiday season. And if you need a little extra help this season—don’t hesitate to take in some of the love our ABQ community has to offer!

Roadrunner Food Bank Holiday Cards

You’re probably aware of Roadrunner Food Bank and how they help bridge the hunger gap for people all over New Mexico. This time of year, when you’re already in a giving spirit, it’s a great time to volunteer in person, donate money, or donate food.

A unique way to give to the food bank is through their Holiday Card Program. Proceeds from the cards themselves go to the food bank. In addition, you can purchase inserts for $5 each to put in the cards to let recipients know that you’ve made a gift to the food bank, and encourage your friends and family to give as well if they can. It’s a great way to get your holiday cards sent out and to raise awareness about hunger in our state and the offerings the food bank provides. Order cards now through December 19, or in-person at Roadrunner after December 19.

Junior League of Albuquerque Online Diaper Drive

Giving has never been so easy with the Online Diaper Drive through the Junior League of Albuquerque. The Junior League acknowledges that diaper need is very real, and that many families struggle to provide enough clean diapers for their little ones.

All you have to do is visit this Amazon site and order diapers for the Junior League to distribute to other non-profits on ABQ. Of course, you can also drop off diapers in-person in the lobby of Adelante El Centro during office hours.

The Salvation Army Albuquerque

The Salvation Army Albuquerque is an organization that everyone knows and loves, and there are lots of ways you can give back with them this holiday season. Give a monetary donation, or even put on a Santa hat and volunteer to be a bell ringer. There are other ways you can donate your time as well. Check it out on their website. It’s the hard work of volunteers that allows $0.80 of each dollar donated to go back to the community.

Toys for Tots

This organization is also celebrating a big anniversary—75 years! You can drop off a new, unwrapped toy to various drop-off locations throughout Albuquerque (many fire stations are drop-off locations, or you can find the whole list here.) You can also give a monetary donation online if that is the best way for you to participate.

The Season of Giving

We know the holiday season is a joyful time, but it also comes with its own stressors, especially for low-income families. If you can, please give! And if your family is in need this holiday season, please take advantage of the variety of organizations out there that would love to support you and yours.

As an Albuquerque HVAC company, giving back is one of our core values, and we’d love for you to join with us in giving back to the community this year.
